Golf Mind Yoga Awareness

The true professional in every field performs from a base of solid faith in his potential to act successfully and to learn to do what he hasn´t yet achieved. He keeps his goals high, without letting himself become so emotionally attached to them that he fears failure. His sense of his own is independent of external results. He doesn´t listen to self-doubt, nor does he perform by rote. He dances to the tune of his own intuitions.

being one

Being one with the golf course, feeling the grass, the motion, being the swing. Merging with the club and golf ball. Powerful body tension, conscious use of muscles, stability in the stance, with a simultaneous flexibility of the upper body and pelvis, turning your spine and the flowing rhythm of the golf swing. The mind is peaceful and clear, full concentration without strain, the iron swings as if on its own, it is one movement. Easy, harmonious, simple. You are "in the flow". There is nothing left, only you and the golf course - no distractions from outside or your thoughts - you merge together. You are "in the zone".

in the zone

Enjoy the state of absolute oneness. At first, the moments of "being in the zone" are short and fleeting. We will attempt to stretch these times, to experience them more intensely, to find "the flow" more often and to linger in oneness longer. This happens by means of mindfulness training and spiritual education. Your focus on breathing, mind and body will be trained.

You will not be able to recognize your golf playing; it will gain a different quality than before. It will no longer be about grimly trying to play on par with all your might, having the longest drive or chipping the ball to the flag in the shortest distance possible. Or being angry at yourself if this does not happen exactly the way you intended, cursing and lashing out at yourself. Looking for excuses why the golf ball today does not fly and roll as it usually does and justifying to your flight partner that you usually play much better.

Even if any of these things should happen after all, you will perceive the experience more intensely and consciously and have moments of being "in the zone". ;-)

We are allowed to play golf differently and release the illusion of having to score and instead, engaging in the many small, unique moments of the game and experiencing and enjoying the beauty of nature and the golf course.

We will begin the golfing day with a yoga exercise. The yoga unit for warming up and energizing your body will either happen at your home, hotel or at the clubhouse; as you wish. The intensity will be adjusted to your constitution. It's no problem at all if you have no prior yoga knowledge. As a start we will do very easy and simple positions - asanas.
Then we'll go golfing. We will play a round of golf together — 9 or 18 holes, enjoy a wonderful golfing day and, throughout the day, we'll focus on breathing, the mind and the body. I will show you practical tips and give you concrete tools with which you will be able to notice a difference in your body.

playing golf in the moment

We'll go golfing just the way you're used to. Yoga, mindfulness training and spiritual education will occur alongside this. You personally will have to do nothing, not exert yourself in a special way or even change your way of golfing. Just golf. At some point you will catch yourself getting into just being, getting into the moment, merging with the course, with your swing and being "in the flow". You do not need to or have to do anything specific for it. It simply happens on its own, if you are open for it.

You can consciously reserve this day just for you and feel your experiences during the individual coaching or you can also have the experience of such a golfing day together with your friends, your family or business partners. Share with each other or listen to the others' realizations and experience the dynamics of a group. Whatever you prefer. Are 18 holes and one day enough or are several rounds necessary, spread over a weekend or even a full week necessary? You decide what is good for you.

golf course as a teacher

We humans can learn a lot about ourselves and our character on the golf course. In the truest sense of the word, the game pushes our limits and offers many learning experiences for life. The golf course can become a life teacher for us.

Let's play a round of golf together and feel the difference in the here and now. You will feel more joy in your game and reduce your handicap along the way.
